You must get a Nile River view room. The room I was in had floor to ceiling windows so you feel like you're on the Nile! You can watch the hustle and bustle of the river, the streets and the bridge - all from your bed! I was room 3007. Plus the sunrise and the nighttime view are totally different to the daytime view. Another standout is the breakfast. FRESH FRESH FRESH! Makes all the difference.

When we arrived they upgraded us to a suite which had the most amazing views over the Nile. The room was funky so it didn't feel like a "business" hotel. The roof terrace is brilliant and the food is very good and the portions are large. Breakfast is also very good - great mix of different cultures of food and available to 10.30am which is very civilised. It is a dry hotel but there are bars about 15-20 minute walk away and it is safe to walk or easy to get a taxi. The reception staff are lovely - very friendly and helpful and smiley. We felt very welcome and at home. I would definitely recommend this over the other "western" hotels - it is the best value for money and the best located for going to Tahrir Square and Downtown Cairo. It was exceptionally clean and spacious. Will definitely stay here again. Best thing though - the room was SOUND PROOF!! A godsend in Cairo.

The staff were very very helpful, very friendly while not intrusive and helped us have a comfortable stay. Especially Mohammed and Tahir at the front desk, Tamer manager and Mirna at guest relations were really great! Breakfast was better than we had expected. We had a chance to try some Egyptian specialties like falafel, foul mudammas, golden berry, local bread…which were all delicious. The staff at the restaurant were also very attentive and kind. Location is very close to Tahrir Square and the Cairo Museum, very easy to get around

I liked literally everything. It is extreemly nice hotel, everything is perfect. I liked the professionalizam and conducting with guests as they are friends. General manager Mr Abdul was super friendly and kind, i talked to him like i know him for years, and also restaurant manager Mr Tamer was so welcoming and warm, he even gave me breakfast when i was late to get one, as also at the reception Mr Yehia so helpful and it was wonderful to see him with a big smile in the morning. Also i like to commend and say my outmost appreciation to cleaning staff - they are doing really their best and they are constantly working, pool employees (this is very hard work on high temperatures), and all service team that are really doing their best, with outmost professionalizam. I specially liked Ms Donia and Ms Yassmin, i loved how they aproach a guest with respect, style and kindness. I would love to come again soon. Hugs for all from Hana and my two small boys Darjan and Ivica, from Croatia!

Great hotel on the river near the Cairo Tower, walking distance (across the Nile) to the Egyptian Museum, and close to the restaurants of Zamalek. The staff were excellent and really helpful, and assisted with an early check in (after we arrived from the overnight train from Luxor) and also a late check out … and gave us a room upgrade so that we would have more space with our two children! The kids enjoyed the pool to cool down after the hustle and bustle of Cairo!

Our stay at Novotel El Borg was eventful due to a medical emergency which caused us to extend unexpectedly. Staff at the hotel- from housekeepers to front of desk - could not have been more helpful or reassuring under difficult circumstances. The hotel was very comfortable and in-house eating options were very satisfactory. When the air conditioning malfunctioned at one point, it was immediately attended to and repaired. For a well priced, four star hotel- it met and exceeded our expectations.

Good breakfast with nice options, perfect location close to Tahrir square and walking distance to the north part of Zamalek. The hotel was clearly renovated recently and it's all very clean. Very friendly staff.
